When in Rome

favorite places in the area with you

Piazza Navona

Our favorite area to stay in Rome is Piazza Navona! It’s a beautiful, lively neighborhood filled with amazing restaurants, charming shops, historic sights, and plenty to see and do within walking distance. You really feel like you’re in the heart of Rome!

You really can’t go wrong staying in or around Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. There are so many wonderful hotels at different price points, so our advice is to find something nearby that fits your style and budget.

Rome is such a walkable city, and staying in this area makes it easy to explore, enjoy the restaurants, stop for an Aperol spritz, and soak up everything that makes Rome so special!

Where to Stay

Sharing a few of our favorite hotels in the area to

make your stay comfortable and memorable

Palazzo Navona Hotel

Another hotel in a great location near Piazza Navona. We stopped by to check it out and liked the lobby and downstairs cocktail bar. There’s also a small rooftop terrace.

The Pantheon
Iconic Rome Hotel

This is where Michael and I are staying

July 20–25, 2027!

It’s part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection and located just steps from the Pantheon, right in the middle of all the action. Of the hotels on this list, it probably has the nicest rooftop terrace. A great option for those who prefer a more contemporary luxury hotel experience while still being surrounded by historic Rome.

Eitch Borromini
Palazzo Pamphilj

This is where we stayed during our wedding reconnaissance trip, and we absolutely loved it! Located right on Piazza Navona, the location really doesn’t get any better.

The hotel is housed in a historic 17th-century palace, so it has tons of old-world charm and character, along with modern conveniences. It’s definitely more historic and rustic than a traditional luxury hotel, which is part of its appeal.

The rooftop is a highlight! Getting there involves climbing an old staircase, but the views are spectacular. The rooftop is actually a destination in itself, even for people who aren’t staying at the hotel.

Hotel Indigo
Rome – St. George

A short walk from Piazza Navona, this IHG hotel is where Michael and I stayed during our engagement trip. We had a lovely, comfortable stay and really enjoyed the hotel. It also has a cute rooftop terrace! A great option if you want to be close to everything but a little removed from the busiest areas.

International flight delays and cancellations happen, and we want to make

sure everyone has plenty of time to get to the ship without any stress.

Plus, Rome is an incredible city, so why not make a little vacation out of it?
